RAC portion: “Recycling of energy infrastructure”
Friday 31 March 2023
Conference venue – Pavilion 14
The Energy Regulatory Authority takes the initiative to organise a public debate to illuminate and highlight that energy infrastructure is recyclable, and that full environmental restoration is explicitly foreseen in all cases.
In this context, and in strict compliance with health protocol, the Authority plans to organise a live energy event entitled: “Recycling of energy infrastructure”. The event will be attended by representatives of renewable energy stakeholders (ELETAEN – For Wind, SEF-SPEF-POSPEF, etc.). – for PV, ESMYE – for Small Hydro, ESPAB-ELAVIOM – for biogas and biomass) and PPC SA for the rehabilitation of lignite areas, while the coordination will be done by a representative of RAE.
The development of Renewable Energy Sources and the maximisation of their penetration is a one-way street for achieving the energy transition. The National Plan for Energy and Climate, currently under review following the energy crisis, foresees a significantly higher penetration of RES than the ambitious targets already adopted. In this context, society must be informed in a correct and accurate way so that the acceptance of renewable energy sources is universal.
To this end, one of the most important questions to be answered is what will happen to the equipment of renewable energy projects and energy infrastructure after their lifetime.
